A few weeks ago I shot some PR material for my friends and designers the Twentyten. I have been really slow at posting them, but here's a few that I messed with a little in post. You can check out their stuff at http://www.thetwentyten.com
I guess I am a little homesick.. Which in no way means I am unhappy, I've just been feeling rather nostalgic lately and feel like paying homage to those that I love. I am constantly questioning where I want to be in fear of missing a moment, thought, whatever. Like most people, I love looking through old family photographs(I don't just love to, I am relatively obsessed). I am sincerely and genuinely happy with photographs sprawled out all over the floor, maybe this is why I chose to be a photographer....So on this beautiful spring day in Brooklyn, I want to be reminded of my family in Seattle. These are just a select few pictures I had time to scan the last time I was in Seattle. I love old photographs of my mother, she looks so beautiful! She still does!
These photos are from a recent series I began based on imagery from dreams I have recorded. They serve as sort of an afterthought in which I, as well as others, are able to analyze the origin of the imagery...As, I am unaware of the reasons why I dream what I do.
I recently shot the look book for Nina Zilka, David Krause and Jeff Dodd's collaborative clothing line The Twentyten. I am thrilled with the results. Their designs are fabulous and innovative which in all made my job as the photographer ten thousand times easier. Thanks so much guys for asking me to shoot! Here's a preview of a couple shots.
These are a couple shots from my botched shoot with no sync cord for the strobes. They were for my 60s project and I think these are interesting shots. Thank you so much to Ana for modeling for me and putting up with these technical difficulties. Carianne, as always you an amazing help.
The last time that I attempted to shoot I was unfortunately put at a great disadvantage. When I checked out my strobe kit I assumed that it would have been checked and I would be assured that the proper equipment would be inside, I was wrong. I brought all this damn equipment home and up my 4 flights of stairs, which is not easy when you have a bunch of torn ligaments and cartilage in your wrist....I had everything set up and my friend who I hardly see had come to model for me, except the sinc cord was missing... This meant that everything I had checked out in terms of lighting would be of absolutely no use to me. I shot anyway, and am hoping there are a couple shots that I can manipulate in post. I am shooting today in the studio and am praying that everything goes well. I even did little painted sketches for the basic premise of my shoot. Wish me luck!
Here's a combination of medium and large format projects that I have been working on the past few weeks. Briefly, the color ones of the blond are medium format and for a project I am working on inspired by 60s icons, fashion, movies, interior decorating...you name it. The black and white and color ones with the brunette are large format and are more aimed at conveying a quietness or subtle attitude femininity and sensuality...
